"Bo-Kaap" Visit

The day commences with a visit and look around the Picturesque "Bo-Kaap" - an historic area that became home to many Muslims and freed slaves after the abolition of Slavery. Discover the unique culture, lifestyle and personality during a walk through the area.

Visit the "Living Museum" District Six

From Bo-Kaap you will be taken to Zonnebloem, originally called district six, and visit the Living Museum (closed on Sundays). Established in December 1994, it incorporates memories of District Six and the forced removals. With the struggle for land now taking a different form, the museum supports the process of 'reinventing' District for the present.

Museum Closed on Sundays - a stop at / outside St Georges Cathedral will be made in lieu.

Gugu S'Thebe Arts and Cultural Center

You will be taken to the Cape Flats, where you will visit the Gugu S'Thebe Arts and Cultural Center. Housed in a brightly coloured building, the centre is dedicated to the empowerment of the people of Langa and improving their socio-economic situation. Explore the local arts and crafts in the the various studios, metal and pottery workshops, as well as the retail facility.

Embark on a walking tour with a local guide, providing an opportunity to to be exposed to the community and lifestyle of Langa.

Robben Island Visit

Take a short transfer to the Victoria And Albert Waterfront to catch the transfer to Robben Island. The excursion includes a Ferry trip across the bay, a guided coach tour of the Island and a tour of the maximum-security prison where the late former president, Nelson Mandel, was incarcerated.

The tour ends off with a drop-off at your hotel in the early evening.
