If there was a definition of a classic safari lodge, it would be Arathusa in the exclusive Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The lodge is situated on a large clearing in the middle of the African bush and overlooks a now dry waterhole – ideal for game viewing. Expect vast herds of elephants or buffalo passing through, lions stalking prey and flocks of birds descending onto this former source of life. The area is also famous for leopard sightings, only few other places in the world can claim such a high population of the elusive felines.
If you want to venture further into the bush, qualified rangers will take you on a morning or afternoon game drive. For the more adventurous, guided walks can also be arranged. This is the closest you can get to the Big 5 in their natural habitat and an unforgettable experience. Back at the lodge, guests can indulge in scrumptious meals, enjoy a sundowner on the deck or refresh themselves in the pool.
